Near this Place lieth the Body of / Mrs. SARAH NICOLL / Daughter of GODMAN JENKYN Esq: / of Harpenden in the County of Hertford / Her First Husband was GEORGE NEWDEGATE Esq. / and Her Second SAMUEL NICOLL Esq. / Both being Grand-sons / of the late ROBERT BEALE Esq. / and all of them of this Parish / She survived Both Her Husbands / and died on the 16th day of January 1766 / In the 80th Year of Her Age / Her Cousin JOHN OSBORN Esq. of / St: Albans, Caused this Monument to be erected / as a lasting Testimony / of His love & Gratitude to Her.

This memorial is to Sarah Nicholl (nee Jenkyn). She was married to Samuel Nicholl Junior who has a memorial which hangs in the chancel (CH030). Samuel died in 1758 and Sarah died in 1766.
This is one of 11 memorials in the church to a large extended 18th century local family. The Nicholl family lived at Uxbridge Common and were related by marriage to the Beale family of Hillingdon and the Newdegate family of Harefield Place.
